The monograph describes, in a clear and transparent way, the systemic basis of contemporary issues of interest to young scientists. The analysis included issues related to the restriction of freedom of speech in social networks, difficulties in defining the concept of fake news or freedom of speech in the era of the pandemic. In addition, it presents selected threats to the freedom of expression on the Internet and legal regulations regarding the functioning of digital platforms and social media in Poland and the issue of their use in activities of law enforcement agencies and special services. The monograph also includes a transcript of the Oxford Debate, which is a summary of the research carried out. For these reasons, one could be tempted to say that the publication has an innovative, even pionering dimension on the legal publishing market.

The reviewed publication looks at the impact of digital platforms and social media on freedom of expression and pluralism. Certainly, it should be recognized that this subject is worth undertaking research not only in legal sciences, but also in other social sciences , due to its interdisciplinary nature and global scale. The presented research results are up-to-date, because the pace of technological development, and thus socio-economic changes, causes many new legal problems, which the authors of the publication notice and try to describe, proposing new solutions.
