This English-language publication is undoubtedly an innovation in the literature and concerns the principles and role of the use of artificial intelligence in the process of supporting the activities of law enforcement and judicial authorities. A particularly interesting aspect is the research area related to the interconnections between artificial intelligence and substantive criminal law. The authors therefore undertook to develop a comprehensive, dogmatic phenomenological system between the most important innovation of the twenty-first century and the conceptual universe of the classical field of law, at least a century and a half, even in its modern form.

We should fully agree with the final thesis of the authors that the digital revolution is no longer a projection of the future, and the process of rapid changes in this area can no longer be stopped. New digital technologies are changing almost every area of social and economic life, including the sphere of justice.

Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly one of the leading topics, addressed both within the scientific legal discourse and in social media. Its importance is currently noticed in many areas, such as civil law, criminal law, labor law, copyright law or  regulations related to the functioning of legal professions. At the same time, the issue of artificial intelligence and law is complicated. In addition, it is developing extremely fast, which may cause threats to the implementation of human rights, hence it is very important to conduct scientific research on the safe limits of this development.
