In the reviewed publication, the contemporary problem of domestic violence and
the need to counteract it is discussed. This phenomenon is subject to continuous
evolution, therefore the analysis of its reasons and consequences is necessary
and should be conducted on an ongoing basis. The subject matter of counterac-
ting violence has been analysed herein in three aspects: 1) constitutional axiolo-
gy as well as the axiology of human rights, penal law, administrative law and
family law; 2) cooperation of public and non-public entities; 3) penal law court
practice and penal law prosecutor’s practice. Such an approach allows compre-
hensive analysis of legal institutions in selected areas. Thus, this publica-
tion will be relevant both for theorists and practitioners, and at the same time
can contribute to further research. It should be emphasised that methods used
by the authors also refer to other fields of study which are complementary to
jurisprudence. Therefore, the monograph should be recognised as special and
worth recommending.
REVIEW OF PROF. UCZ. DR HAB. MARCIN WIELEC
The reviewed study discusses the topic of counteracting domestic violence, which
belongs to particularly important tasks of the state and which is extremely im-
portant in social terms. Legal institutions established to this end should be subject
to continuous control and assessment and, if necessary, legislative amendments.
From this point of view, conducting scientific research the subject of which
includes both dogmatic analysis and empirical analysis of the system of coun-
teracting domestic violence, deserves a definite approval and allows positively
assessing the purposefulness of a publication devoted to this subject matter.
